South Country Cheviots

Prize Money: 1st £3, 2nd £2, 3rd £1

1- Best Ram, aged, three shear and above.

2 - Best Ram, two shear.

3 - Best Shearling Ram.

4 - Best Tup Lamb. (See rule 10)

5 - Best Ewe. ( must have nursed a Lamb during the show year)

6 - Best Gimmer.

7 - Best Ewe Lamb.( Not to be shown in classes 8 & 9)

8 - Best Two Ewe Lambs.

The Leslie Usher Challenge Cup,

to be held for one year.

9 - Best Ewe or Gimmer & her own Ewe lamb, Neither to be shown in any other class except the Groups & Shepherds.

10 - Best Woolled Cheviot Sheep in this section. (See rule 11)
(Must have competed in another class).

11 - Best Group of Ewe, Gimmer and Ewe Lamb. (See rule 8)

The "Walter Douglas" Challenge Cup.

To be held by the winner for one year.

12 - Best Group of Aged Ram, Shearling Ram and Ram Lamb. Not necessarily home bred.

Napier & Ettrick Challenge Cup.

To be held for one year.

13 - Best Group of Aged Ram, Shearling Ram, Ram Lamb, Ewe, Gimmer and Ewe Lamb.

The John Hume Mitchell Challenge Cup

to be held for one year by winner.

Best Cheviot Sheep in Section I.

The Tait Silver Challenge Cup.

To be held for one year. Only prize winners will compete.

The John V. Lindsey Perpetual Challenge Salver

for the Best Cheviot Sheep of Opposite Sex to Champion.

14 - For Best Cheviot Sheep shown by a Shepherd which may be either a Ewe, Gimmer or Ewe Lamb from his own hirsel.

Confined to hired shepherds.

To Most Successful Exhibitor in Cheviot Classes 1 - 13 (Shepherds classes excluded). 1st Prize counts3; 2nd 2; 3rd 1. £5 to winner.
